A note from UIncept CEO - Divvya Guptaa

Being a woman and an entrepreneur, nothing delights me more than seeing women claiming the entrepreneurship space and making a dent with their breakthrough enterprises. Be it Chiki Sarkar - Founder, Juggernaut, Rashmi Daga - Founder Fresh Menu, Falguni Nayar - Founder & CEO, Nykaa, or Richa Kar - Founder, Zivame - these exemplary women and many others like them have changed the course for their respective industries and are altering the narrative of women in power.

Breaking the stereotypes and the glass-ceilings, women have been taking up leadership roles, and positions which were conventionally occupied by men. Today we have more women entrepreneurs and C-level executives than ever. Women are leading teams, heading finance, exploring avenues in innovation, research, sales, and logistics, and are upping the game as they go.

While we are witnessing the considerable shift in dynamics, especially in the metropolitan cities, we still have a long way to go till we attain absolute gender equality in our society and the work sphere, and there’s some catching up to do from the ground level up, in tier 2 and 3 cities.

As we wage war against the deep-rooted notions and assumptions that have halted women’s success in numerous direct and indirect ways, it’s also paramount for us as a society to be a support system, making women agents of their own will and dreams, and pave way for a feminist world, free of bias, sexism, illiberality and harassment.

Women, it’s time we became authors of our own chronicles. Work towards understanding your potential, don’t fear taking lead or smashing conventions. Speak up against the wrong. Support fellow women - miracles happen when women have women’s back! Raise your voice, let your opinion be heard in the next meeting. Carve your own niche, you don’t have to follow any old rules, especially when they have prejudice written all over them, fuel your fire, go after that goal you’ve been aspiring to fulfill, let nothing hold you back, hustle hard, and make every day your day.

At UIncept, it’s always been our goal to extend equal opportunities to anyone who wishes to explore the journey of entrepreneurship. We always push ourselves to reach out and thoroughly support women inclined towards starting their own venture and believe that they are truly unstoppable once they realize their strengths and start chasing after their dreams.

On this note, I wish all the women a very happy Women’s Day! Let your brilliance shine on!
